Sibiu is the city of the brightly painted houses, with “eye” window to ventilate their attic grain store. Sibiu has many, fine old churches and some of Romania’s best museums, as well as the remains of the bastions and fortifications.
In 2007 it was the European Capital of Culture, together with Luxemburg and since then it’s been constantly growing, holding up big and important international events, like the Theatre Festival in Sibiu.
