About the tour

Moieciu de Sus is a village from Brasov county, settled in a beautiful mountain area, at the edge of the Bucegi National Park. Its settlement, the raw nature and the respect of the locals for traditions make it an ideal place for rural and sustainable tourism.

Due to the abundance of mountains, forests and hills, the village offers plenty of possibilities for hiking and trekking trips, and activities based on traditional village life and customs.

The programme includes:

Hike to Bisericuta Peak, the highest point in the village of Moeciu de Sus, with 1322 m altitude. All along the hike the views over Moeciu Valley, Fundata, the Bucegi and the Piatra Craiului mountain range are stunning.

Circular route, approximate distance: 10 kmts. Total ascent: 350 m. Total descent: 343 m.

Other included goodies:

• Visit at an “odaie” (traditional sheepfold).
• Cheese tasting.
• Homemade lunch with local products.
• Visit at the Cabane Aux Images, a photografic exhibition about rural life in Romania.
• Tour of the village in horse drawn cart.

Good physical shape and proper hiking gear.
There are not animals in the cowfold between June and September (both months included).
