If you’re keen on hiking, you should try the romanian Carpathians, a range which offers some of the best hiking experiences in Europe!
In this tour, we have combined shorter and longer hikes in the Bucegi Natural Park and The Piatra Craiului National Park, together with accommodation and discovery of a traditional mountain village.
Arrival. Meet and greet at the Bucharest airport. Transfer to Moeciu de Sus. Accommodation and dinner.
Breakfast and discovering a mountain village life style. Hiking trip to Bisericuta Peak, the highest point in the village of Moeciu de Sus, with 1322 m altitude. All along the hike the views over Moeciu Valley, Fundata, the Bucegi Natural Park and the Piatra Craiului National Park are stunning. Cheese tasting with local homemade cheeses. Horse drawn carriage tour of the village and visit to Cabane aux Images, an exhibition about rural life in Romania, to the orthodox church of the village and to a traditional weaving loom, with live demonstration of use. Dinner and accommodation.

Today´s hiking trail will cross the Bucegi Natural Park. Breakfast and transfer to the Bucegi Natural Park: Gutanu – Poiana Gutanu – Grohotis – Strunga Cross (1.909 m) – Padina´s Valley. Accommodation.
Technical features: approximate distance: 15 kmts. Total ascent: 1060 m. Total descent: 430 m.
Breakfast and return hiking to Moeciu de Sus on a different trail. We hike the highest peak of the Bucegi Mountains, the Omu Peak (2505 m), then we descend to Moeciu de Sus through Batrana Massif, Coltii Tapului, Natural Park of Bucegi. Transfer to the accommodation. Dinner and accommodation.
Technical features: approximate distance: 20 kmts. Total ascent: 965 m. Total descent: 1600 m.
Breakfast. Resting day. Dinner and accommodation in Moeciu de Sus.
Breakfast and visit to the Libearty Bear Sanctuary in Zarnesti, the greatest bear reserve in Europe, where 95 bears that used to live in miserable conditions have been rescued, and live now a happy life in a natural environment. We head on to the Piatra Craiului National Park where we will cross the Zarnesti Gorges and we`ll go up hiking to the Curmatura Hut (1470 m altitude). Descent through Poiana Zanoaga. Return to Moeciu de Sus. Dinner and accommodation.

Breakfast and hike to the Fundata village. It’s altitude, 1360 m, makes Fundata the highest settlement in Romania. Dinner and accommodation.
Technical features: circular route, approximate distance – 10 kmts. Total ascent: 360 m. Total descent: 378 m.
Breakfast and transfer to Bucharest airport.
